Dr. Julie Bitz
DVM
Meet Dr. Julie Bitz, our resident cat whisperer and birdwatching enthusiast! Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Bitz made her way to Tucson via Portland after earning her DVM at the University of Minnesota. With a special interest in ophthalmology and a soft spot for geriatric cats, she’s dedicated to providing top-notch care. In her free time, you’ll find her on a bike trail, admiring local wildlife, or planning her next travel adventure!
Dr. Mariana Clarys
DVM
Dr. Mariana Clarys is a born-and-raised Arizonan who’s right at home caring for pets in Tucson. A Colorado State University grad, Dr. Clarys initially worked in mixed animal practice before joining our team two years ago. With a passion for ophthalmology and surgery, she’s all about quality care, whether it’s for a cow or a cat! Off the clock, you’ll find her on her family’s working cattle ranch, helping her husband care for their menagerie of animals.
Dr. Sarah Therio
DVM
Say hello to Dr. Sarah Therio, Arizona native, and emergency vet extraordinaire! After earning her DVM at Colorado State University, Dr. Therio returned to Tucson, where she began her career in emergency medicine. She later traveled the country as a relief vet, bringing her expertise to specialty hospitals nationwide. Now back in Tucson, she’s dedicated to helping pets in need, with special interests in feline urinary tract issues and hematologic diseases. In her downtime, Dr. Therio loves hiking, writing fiction, and jamming on her guitar.
Ryann
Hospital Administrator & CVT
Meet Ryann, Tucson native and multi-talented CVT with a love for emergency and critical care. She combines experience from her civilian career and her role in the U.S. Army Reserve Veterinary Corp, all to bring the best care to her patients. Outside of the clinic, she’s all about community events with her family and pets.
Denisse
Veterinary Assistant
Denisse joined the vet world in 2013 and has been a dedicated ICU and emergency vet assistant ever since. She loves providing hands-on nursing care and has a special interest in Neurology. When she’s not at work, you can find her enjoying family time or diving into a good book!
Jason
Veterinary Assistant
Jason’s on a mission! As a Veterinary Assistant and a dedicated medical student at PMI, he’s working hard toward his vet tech certification. Passionate about animal care, Jason always puts his patients first. He’s also a pet dad to a dachshund, a black cat, and two guinea pigs.
Abby
Abby has been bringing her skills to the vet world for ten years! Alongside her furry family (a chihuahua named Nigel and two parrots named Blueberry and Judge Judy), she’s a part-time psychology student with a dream to combine animal care with mental health support. Abby believes animals have incredible healing power, and we couldn’t agree more!

Lead Customer Service Representative
Kristin, our rockstar Lead CSR, is here to make a difference from the moment you walk in! With seven years of experience, she’s all about guiding pet parents through tough times. Outside of work, she’s a movie buff, concertgoer, and coffee enthusiast. Did we mention she’s also a proud mom to six cats and four dogs?
Kirsty
Assistant Hospital Administrator, CVT, CFVP
Meet Kirsty, She’s spent her career as a veterinary technician in both emergency and general practice and enjoys the fast pace of emergency, but the relationships built in general practice. Helping pets and the people who love them is what drives her every day. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys volunteering with The Street Dog Coalition, where she gets to care for pets belonging to those experiencing homelessness. As an Arizona native, giving back to the community is something she truly values. When not working or volunteering, you’ll usually find her in the kitchen baking, or spending time with her husband, children, and pets.
