How We Work
Urgent Care 101
Triage
How it Works
What Happens: Upon arrival, a veterinary technician will quickly assess your pet’s condition.
Why It’s Important: This is to determine if your pet needs immediate life-saving treatment or if they can wait for further evaluation.
Pets are placed in one of three triage categories.
Priority 1
Critical: Life-threatening emergencies requiring immediate care (e.g., difficulty breathing, severe trauma).
Treated based on urgency not order of arrival.
Priority 2
Serious: Urgent cases that need to be seen soon, but the pet is stable for now (e.g., vomiting, moderate pain).
Ensuring critical cases receive the fastest care possible.
Priority 3
Non-Urgent: Stable patients who can wait longer (e.g., mild limping, minor wounds).
Urgent care for your pet can include life-saving first aid, diagnostic testing, treatment, medication, or surgery.
The team will update you on your pet’s status, estimated wait times, and possible treatment plans.
